All about Emma

So, yesterday we were at our new house bringing a few things over and working on some stuff. I had been standing on a kitchen chair in the kitchen to sanitize some of the high cupboards and then got down and was working on something else. Emma decided to climb onto the chair, and tipped it over, smashing to the ground. I just barely missed catching her, I watched it all happen and just couldn't quite make it in time to her. The back of the chair hit the floor and she hit the back of the chair by her eye, splitting it open. There were three little gashes and they bled pretty good. We took her to urgent care and they stitched two of the little gashes closed. It wasn't a really gaping injury and they would have used glue if it wasn't so close to her eye. They had to wrap her up tight and then hold her head steady. The nurse had a hard time keeping her head where it needed to be, and the doc and nurse kept commenting on how strong she was. She was pretty worked up, and didn't like people looking at her or touching her. Finally it was over and we went home. I let her fall asleep cuddling with me on the couch. Poor girl. Then today I put her down for her nap after church and when I got her out she had pulled out one of the stitches. I decided just to let it be, because I didn't want to put her through all the trauma all over again.

And now for some fun stuff about Emma. She has really taken off with talking and doesn't stop when we are at home. When we go somewhere and we are around other people she hardly makes a sound, but at home it is constant! And as you all probably know, when they learn to talk they say some of the cutest things. The other day I got her out of the bathtub and wrapped her up in her towel. She opened the towel exposing herself saying "naked princess". Then she would wrap her self up again and say "warm". She does this every time she has a bath now.
A few evenings ago I decided to wear a night gown that I hadn't pulled out for a long time. It is pink and silky and Madalyn and Savanna have always made comments on how beautiful it is. Well, I changed into it and then grabbed Emma to get her ready for bed. As I was getting her dressed, she looked at me and she said "Mommy princess!" I asked her if she liked my dress and she said "It's pretty."
I was doing Emma's hair one day and she somehow got a hair ball on her. She started freaking out saying "hair get you, hair get you". Apparently she didn't like it on her.
The other day Savanna brought home some school work she had made. One of the things was a big paper spider. It was on the table and Emma reached up to get it, not knowing what it was. Savanna said, "That's my spider." Emma dropped the spider and it fell onto the chair. She just looked at it and then I saw her whole body shiver, and she said, "I touch it!" I then told her, "Emma, that isn't a real spider." She finally relaxed and said with relief in her voice "oh". I thought it was really funny. She already has a fear of bugs.

Okay, so I have one funny thing that isn't about Emma. It is about Madalyn. Today after church Madalyn and I were hanging out on my bed chatting. She loves to do this, (so do I). She was showing me how big her muscles were. I asked her if she wanted to see how big my muscles were. I showed her my arm muscles and she said, "I see a hump." I said, "Yeah I know, it's my muscles". She looked at me and with amazement said "Wow". I laughed and told her I was glad someone was impressed with them. I found it pretty funny, because I don't think I could impress too many people with my arm muscles.
